Cheonnaegang River
Located 7km to the east of Geumsan, Cheonnaegang river has mountains and rivers, old cultural assets and the battlefield of Imjinwaeran (Japanese Invasion of Korea in 1592) along its path, and is next to the Geumgang River.

Introduction
This is a famous site of Geumsan Mountain, and its pristine natural environment attracts endless streams of visitors throughout the year. The Cheonnaegang River is an upstream part of Geumgang situated between Jeogok-ri, Jewon-myeon and Cheonnae-ri, Gaeti Village, where fishing enthusiasts can enjoy an abundant catch of freshwater fish. On its riverside stand Yonghoseok statues dating from the Goryeo Period, situated 280m apart from each other. There is also a memorial monument of Gwonjong, the then-governor of Geumsan, who sacrificed his life while fighting for his country during Imjinwaeran-visitors weep here in admiration of his extraordinary patriotism.
The mountain next to the tidal flat in Jeogok-ri is called Bonghwangdae. Because of its towering height pointing toward the river, it has welcomed poets, writers and artists alike since ages past. There used to be a pavilion of the same name on the foothills that offered a place to rest for visitors, but only the site remains today. The mountain behind Jeogok-ri contains the site of a fortress that was built during Imjinwaeran.
