Ginseng Industry Research Center

Location : 40-1 San, Nae-ri, Daedyeok-myeon, Anseong-si, Gyeonggi-do Province

The Ginseng Industry Research Center employs dedicated research personnel and they conduct the following general research projects: education projects, industrial-education cooperation projects, policy development projects & special projects through cooperation with Chung-Ang University research personnel.

General Research Projects

In accordance with the importance and characteristics of a project, the research center classifies and manages its projects into national and general research projects.

National research projects

The research center actively participates in various national research projects funded by the government. Current research on the ginseng industry's innovation strategy to increase value (research theme of the national research center support project) is being conducted in three stages for the next six years.

General research projects

The research center also actively participates in ginseng industry-related research projects initiated by central & local government institutions, public organizations, and private enterprises.

Education Projects

Ginseng Academy. For our ginseng industry to survive in an environment of fierce global competition, a key task for us is to cultivate ginseng experts with a professional management mindset. Through various educational projects including the following regular and special courses, we seek to discover and bring up experts to lead in the globalization of ginseng.

Regular Courses

The academy conducts basic and professional classes related to ginseng and the ginseng industry within universities for the short-term, and seeks to establish ginseng departments for the long-term. The academy also develops its own textbooks to streamline its programs.

Special courses

The academy establishes and conducts various professional education courses related to the ginseng industry on a constant or as-needed basis. For example, it conducts educational courses in farming techniques, processing technology, and distribution modernization, as well as courses in trade business affairs, international marketing, etc. It also conducts courses related to the internet and e-commerce to prepare ginseng experts to be relevant in the digital age.

Ginseng consulting through industrial-educational cooperation projects

The research center plays the role of the Korean ginseng industry expert that supports the technological and strategic demands of all ginseng industry sectors, ranging from ginseng farmers to ginseng processing and exporting companies. Moreover, the research center offers consulting services to propose new strategic paradigms for the Korean ginseng industry to survive amid global competition, develop practical programs to stay competitive, and promote successful commercialization.

Consulting to support a Ginseng Cooperative

The research center provides consulting on reasonable support systems to enable a Ginseng Cooperative to function as a bridge between ginseng producers and distributors.

Commissioned research for development of the local ginseng industry
Joint marketing activities for PR & sales promotion
Joint implementation of information and commissioned educational resources

Consulting to support ginseng farmers

The research center seeks to become a dependable partner to ginseng farmers by developing technology to maximize efficient ginseng production for application in the field.

Consulting on high quality raw ginseng cultivation techniques and management efficiency for farmers
Support for digital education and real-time internet farming technique information systems
Consulting on multi-dimensional measures for optimal production volume, etc

Consulting support for ginseng processing companies

Provide customized consulting services based on the characteristics of individual companies to help them effectively resolve chronic management issues common among Korean ginseng processing companies.

Information and consulting related to ginseng patents
Development of ginseng products and commercialization (medicine, food or health supplements)
Consulting for technology and reasonable management of ginseng processing companies
Projects to discover and cultivate ginseng related venture startups

Policy development support projects

Develop comprehensive policies and systems to improve ginseng global competitiveness, implement efficient infrastructure and play an advisory role to ginseng industry support organizations-national and local governments and ginseng cooperatives.

Special projects
